This new build home was situated in the open country side and had to be built to maintain the character and scale of a dilapidated farm house. Gaining planning was always going to be a challenge as planning policy sets out to resist new developments in the open countryside.
As you see we used a mixed farm house multi style brick and clay pantiles on the roof. This aesthetic is typical for this rural area and looks entirely in keeping within its surroundings. Away from the road facing frontage we could add a little modern twist to the rear, whilst still making it a comfortable home with cosy living spaces and a large open fire.
